Welcome to Next Step Maths

NextStepMaths.com is a website created by myself, Nicole Taylor, a Mathematics Graduate of the University of Cambridge. I created it with the intention of it being the ultimate tool for students who are sitting university mathematics admissions tests, such as the Sixth Term Examination Paper (STEP), Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT) and Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA), and for the students who are aiming for an A/A* in their A Level Maths and Further Maths

1:1 Tuition

If you are looking for a private tutor, I offer One-to-One tuition in

  • A Level Maths
  • A Level Further Maths
  • STEP
  • MAT
  • TMUA
  • Cambridge Interview Preparation & Mock Interviews

Since beginning my degree at Cambridge, I have had a passion to tutor and help other students reach their potential, whether that be getting into Oxbridge or achieving A/A* in their A Level Maths and Further Maths. And so as a result, I have been tutoring the above subjects for the last 3 years.  I worked with Project Access (now known as Slip Stream) which involved supporting mathematics applicants (with their personal statements, UCAS Applications and STEP preparation) and supporting mathematics offer holders with STEP.

For more information about myself and approach to online tuition, please see my One-to-One tuition page.

STEP

I have created an array of invaluable STEP revision resources to aid you in your preparation:

  • STEP FAQs – answering commonly asked questions, plus highlighting the essential information you need to know when sitting your STEP exams.
  • STEP Worked Solutions – I have created two databases, one for STEP 2 and one for STEP 3, which has links to the question, the mark scheme, the examiner’s comment, plus a detailed worked solution to the question written by myself. In addition, I categorise them by topic and outline which new spec paper the question could appear on.
  • STEP Questions by Topic – Here, I have created searchable tables for each topic in STEP, organising every STEP question from 1998-2020 into these databases. Thus allowing you to practise STEP questions and fully mastering each topic.
  • STEP Papers – Two searchable tables, one for STEP 2 and one for STEP 3, containing links to every STEP paper from 1998-2000.
  • How to prepare for STEP – An article written by myself, outlining how to effectively prepare and revise for STEP, plus useful resources I came across during my own preparation.

TMUA

I have created an array of invaluable TMUA revision resources to aid you in your preparation:

  • TMUA FAQs – answering commonly asked questions, plus highlighting the essential information you need to know when sitting your TMUA exams.
  • TMUA Papers and Worked Solutions – I have created a searchable table containing links to every TMUA Paper and Worked Solutions.
  • How to prepare for TMUA – An article written by myself, outlining how to effectively prepare and revise for TMUA.

MAT

I have created an array of invaluable MAT revision resources to aid you in your preparation:

  • MAT FAQs – answering commonly asked questions, plus highlighting the essential information you need to know when sitting your MAT exam.
  • MAT Papers and Worked Solutions – I have created a searchable table containing links to every MAT Paper and Worked Solutions. At the bottom of the page, there is a playlist of video worked solutions for MAT 2016-2019.
  • How to prepare for MAT – An article written by myself, outlining how to effectively prepare and revise for MAT.
