I understand that unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or genuine emergencies, may occasionally prevent a student from attending a scheduled lesson. Where possible, I apply reasonable discretion. However, consistency is essential for meaningful academic progress, and repeated cancellations or missed sessions can disrupt both learning momentum and lesson planning.
To ensure fairness and commitment, following the first unexplained no-show or a pattern of short-notice cancellations, I reserve the right to require advance payment for future sessions. This secures the allocated time slot while respecting both my schedule and that of other students.
No-Show and Late Attendance
If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson, I will remain in the online meeting for 10 minutes. After this time, I may leave the call; however, the full lesson time remains reserved. If the student joins later within the scheduled hour, they should notify me as soon as possible and I will rejoin promptly where feasible.
Missed lessons without sufficient notice are chargeable, as the time has been exclusively allocated.
Pre-Paid Lessons and Refunds
Where lessons are paid for in advance, refunds will not be issued in the event of a no-show or late cancellation. Prepayment secures the reserved time and ensures mutual commitment to the learning process.
If an unavoidable emergency arises, I encourage students or parents to make contact as early as possible so that the situation can be discussed appropriately.
